More INKTOBER 2026

A little out of order from Oct 21, I could have drawn a hero sandwich or a human hero but I chose the Hero brand motocycle as the most challenging!

Another attempt at Anime, I hope this person looks confused!

For the word “lounge” I chose to draw myself lounging on imaginary cushions in front of an imaginary French door!

For Oct 23 and the word Dapper, I drew Dapper Dan a Harlem-based fashion designer and haberdasher. I loved the photo I drew from and would love to paint Dapper Dan later on in color and in oils, but would probably need permission from photographer.

For the word Beacon I drew the Nauset Light on Cape Cod, but using marker pens the sky doesn’t satisfy me nor the trees, for lack of color variation. Oh well, given my supplies and the 5” by 8” sketchbook that I’m doing all these in, I did the best I could!

Self-explanatory I hope!

Alas, this marker-based attempt at a fractured portrait didn’t please me at all. Usually I do them in mixed media, using caran d’ache lumina pencils and matte black paint, and the result is much more pleasing.

Finally a subject more suitable to pen and ink and the grey scale ink markers I have!

And that’s all for today, as I’m one day ahead already.

INKTOBER 2026 CONTINUED

Beanie Baby is a rescue cat and I’m all hers!

The one above Beanie is based on the word “mystical” which I changed to Mystic Al, drawing a picture of Alan Watts who studied mysticism, and may himself have been a mystic.

A coin toss illustrates the word Toss.

I attempted to draw in ink a flimsy card table made more flimsy by a broken part. Alas it didn’t come out as I had hoped!

This was painted with ink markers and alas yet again. Using paint and paint brushes would have been much more successful! Lady is a cocker spaniel, from Lady and the Tramp…

I hope this one is self explanatory!

The original word was gangling. Wonder when it became “gangly”!

See if you can figure out what will happen here!

Tomorrow’s drawing is already finished! An Emperor penguin with its chick.
