Migraine Continues….Fifth Day…I Feel Desolate.

20121223-000048.jpg As good a headache picture as any…

Sorry…I do get some breaks with Imitrex, but not complete and not for long. Then the pain returns in full and I cannot take another for 24 hours. Or at least 12 hours if I get desperate. I try to wait 24 hours though because I do not want to get a rebound headache.

Anyhow, I am still slowly trying to gather 11 blogs for the rest of the Liebster Award, so I haven’t forgotten that obligation. It is still in the offing, along with everything else in my life that gets put in abeyance when I get a monster migraine. Okay. It’s back to lying down and being still. Thanks for your support everyone. I’ll be back soon.

  1. Thank you, vera. Yes, once an art piece is out there, i no longer control what people make of it, nor do i want to, i love to hear what others see in some art i have done…it is amazing what they make of it for themselves!

  2. So glad the pain is gone. And art is TRULY art when it is capable of multiple interpretations. They say when you put your work out there, it ceases to be your own. Or something along those lines. Have a wonderful visit at your brother’s. We all want you to have a lovely time. 🙂

  3. Dear Vera,

Oh, my, you really do know ewigt! I am so sorry about that. Thank you for the comment on my art. I really appreciate that, coming from another migraine sufferer. Esp since i actually do not suffer from classical migraine, but only with common migraine, i.e. without aura.

So the fact that you tell me i was accurate impresses even me! But common or classical, the pain is migraine pain world round and it can make you want to gouge your eyes out or as you said, and better said, you just want to roll your head against the wall or sit curled up in a ball.

Originally, i had drawn the woman in the glasses lens as an example of someone in a psychiatric seclusion room, but it came to me last night that i must have had a headache when i drew the picture, because clearly the black eclipse has colors that suggest pain! I also called it “broken” which could mean all sorts of things.

Anyhow, thank you so much for your input, and you will be glad to hear that the migraine appears to have broken last night. I woke today without a headache for the first time in nearly a week. What helped? Who knows…maybe it was drinking more fluids, having a stiff cup of coffee…Or taking enough medication…

All I know is, i am grateful because next week i leave to go to North Carolina to visit my brother, whom i haven’t visited at his home in nearly 20 years. To do so with a chronic headache would have been singularly awrful! 8)

  4. I know exactly what you are going through. I have been prescribed with a drug called Relpax which, like Imitrex, offers temporary relief, but not complete and definitely not for long. And when the pain returns, I am not allowed to have another one before 24 hours after I had had the first. I cheat too sometimes with just 12 just so that I don’t jump off the window. Whatever it is, that wait is HELL. It sometimes hurt so bad for me I literally have to roll my head against the wall. Or sit like the girl in the left eye-glass. Otherwise my vision would be what it is in the right eye-glass. That’s an awesome work of art!
Also, have you tried having some tea? Like chamomile tea? It helps occasionally during the wait. Hope it passes soon.

  5. Oh no….. I am so sorry you are hurting so badly. Wish I could make it all better for you.

For days my computer would lock completely up every time I clicked on yours, or a number of other wordpress blogs. I was waiting for my new computer before trying to click on any blog again. But when I saw this in my email just now, I had to take the chance. So glad I can get on here. Now I hope your migraine will cure itself like my old netbook seems to have done. At any rate, my new computer did arrive today, I just haven’t set it up yet.

HUGS and LOVE and CONGRATULATIONS on your awesome milestones and awards. YOU DESERVE IT. You do NOT deserve to be in PAIN.

    XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
